Hello AFSCME Local 127 Members,

WE DID IT!

After many long hours at and away from the negotiating table beginning November 2022, the Bargaining Team of AFSCME Local 127 and the City of San Diego have come to a “Total Package Tentative Agreement,” or a tentative MOU. Now, we need you – the members of AFSCME Local 127. We need you to vote “YES” to ratify this hard-fought and intensely negotiated MOU on Wednesday, 5/10 @ the General Membership Meeting (GMM). 

Here are some of the principal terms of this MOU:

Economic Proposals

General salary increases

  • 21% over 3 years for all 2,016 bargaining unit members

SSAs/equity increases

  • 6-10% for 1,244 or 62% of bargaining unit members or 56 job classifications

Flex benefits

  • approx. 15% over 3 years

 

 

Non-Economic Proposals

Staffing levels

  • addressed vacancy rate of 23% through increases

 

Contracting out

  • Narrowed scope and required more accountability

 

AR 75.12

  • eliminated “disciplinary matrix”
  • created new “Category 1A” 
  • changed to point system
