San Diego-Imperial Counties Labor Council (SDILC) Delegates Meeting
AFSCME Local 127 is a member of the SDILC, as well as our AFSCME Local 127 President sits as an executive board member. The 200,000 working families of the SDILC improve the lives of working people by standing together and fighting for each other, including for our members.
The broad membership of the SDICL is amongst an array of sectors and professions. They are are nurses, plant technicians, teachers, labors, electricans, firefighters, retail workers, truck drivers, construction tradespeople, grocery employees, domestic workers, janitors, stagehands, college professors and more. There mission is to fight to ensure every worker has a voice on the job and at the negotiating table. With that voice, we stand up to our bosses to secure better wages, benefits and working conditions.
But our power doesn’t stop there. We bring our collective strength into the halls of government, where union workers are a formidable force for change. We work tirelessly to make housing more affordable, improve education, and lower healthcare costs. We demand justice, dignity, and equality for every working family.
Our community—comprising workers, delegates, e-board members, and staff—empowers workers daily. Together, we sign quality contracts, elect pro-worker leaders, and pass laws that prioritize the needs of workers.
AFSCME Local 127 has delegates from its executive board who attend and speaking out onbalf of all our members.
