Members of AFSCME Local 127,

AFSCME Local 127 is hosting the vote for ratification for the negotiated successor MOU. The vote will occur on Tuesday, June 2nd from 8am to 2pm at Union Hall, 3737 Camino Del Rio S, Suite #400, San Diego, CA 92108.

Importantly, the Bargaining Team of AFSCME Local 127 recommends voting “YES” to ratify this successor MOU.

In exchange for 40-hour mandatory furloughs - or 24 hours of discretionary leave for those in ESD - over the next 2 years, the Bargaining Team agreed to various economic and non-economic terms:

Here are some of the principle economic terms:

  • general wage increases for all bargaining unit members, 2%, 3.5%, 2%, 2% over the next 3 years
  • special salary/equity adjustments for 34 job classifications, an additional 5% effective on 1/1/29
  • flexible benefit increases for eligible bargaining unit members, an additional amount of at least $1,000
  • re-opener language in March 2027 and March 2028, discussions for add-ons and certifications, including iNARTE, confined space, ASE, CDL’s, and FCC

And here are some of the principle non-economic terms:

  • preservation of bargaining unit work incorporation of AB 339, or Gov’t Code Sec. 3504.1, increasing intent to contract out work from 30 to 45-days
  • grievance procedure encouraging resolutions at lowest level and in more timely manner
  • Collection Services Division preserving re-negotiation of route bidding process

Thank you,

Bargaining Team of AFSCME Local 127
