Fifteen Day Notice of Election
Dear Members of AFSCME Local 127,
The purpose of this email is to provide Members with Fifteen-Day Notice of the Election. See AFSCME Local Election Manual (p. 11); see also Constitution for Local 127, Art. VII, Sec. 2.
As voted in the meeting to determine the method of which to vote, the Election will take place via job-site voting. Also, per the notice regarding nominations, Members will have an opportunity to nominate Members who they believe should be elected to office prior to the Election. See Constitution of AFSCME Local 127, Article VII, ยง 2. The Election will take place on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. There will be a total of 8 ballot boxes, which will be placed at various job sites, including 1 at Union Hall. The ballot boxes of the 7 locations listed below will be open from 6am to 4pm. See AFSCME Local Election Manual (p. 11).
Here is a list of job sites where a ballot box will be located:
(1) Chollas: 2740 Cmto Chollas, San Diego, CA 92105 (at entrance by main parking lot)
(2) Torrey Pines Golf Course: 11480 N. Torrey Pines Rd., La Jolla, CA 92037 (TBD)
(3) MOC II: 9192 Topaz Way, San Diego, CA 92123 (at picnic area)
(4) Environmental Services Department: 8353 Miramar Pl., San Diego, CA 92121 (at patio)
(5) Rose Canyon: 3775 Morena Blvd., San Diego, CA 92117 (at entrance near main parking lot)
(6) 20th & B: B St. & 20th St., San Diego, CA 92102 (at Radar Hall)
(7) Bradley Field Little League Baseball Field: 1353 Second St., Coronado, CA
92118 (at bleachers)
To reiterate, 1 ballot box will be placed at Union Hall: 3737 Camino Del Rio
S., Suite #400, San Diego, CA 92108. This ballot box will be open from 6am to 8pm.
The purpose of this box is to accommodate those Members who are unable to make
it to a job site where any of the above-mentioned ballot boxes are placed.
Moreover, Members should be prepared to vote on multiple offices. See
AFSCME Local Union Election Manual (p. 11). Again, here is the list of those
offices: President, Vice-President, Recording Secretary, Secretary-Treasurer,
Trustees, and Executive Board.
All ballots will be counted after the ballot boxes close on Wednesday, May 18,
2022. After the ballots are counted, the results will be published and provided to
Members as soon as feasible.
